The Frugal Kitchen

Heirloom Tableware

If I can reasonably expect my tableware to outlive me, it is Heirloom quality.

Quality tableware is often only for those with the very highest budget, but not always. A pewter or stainless serving bowl often is comparable in price to a nice glass bowl, or less expensive than a plain stoneware bowl. The nice thing about heirloom quality is, it is often someone else's heirloom - and you can pick up very nice pieces at flea markets, garage sales, Freecycle, and watching Craigslist.
